High altitude Unmanned Composite Aircraft

QinetiQ


QinetiQ have developed a lightweight solar or battery powered unmanned aircraft, suitable for operation at extreme altitudes with a variety of payloads. The main structure consists of filament wound spars, fitted with lightweight ribs. The extremely lightweight structure is predominantly pre-preg carbon fibre, and is bonded together with high tech adhesives. This project is now controlled within QinetiQ for military requirements.
